Abstract Polynesian Inspired Jade Fish hook.

This piece started as a small off cut in my scrap tray. It is truly phenomenal jade but was an odd shape and fairly thin. I set about to create a personal challenge to maximize the use of as much of the jades shape and size as possible. This design came into being and filled the piece from edge to edge and corner to corner. It utilizes the fine translucency of this amazing jade by varying depths and thicknesses that are also engraved with designs that echo the pieces elements. The top edge of the hooks point and the top edge of the uppermost part of the piece feature the unaltered natural wind slick edge of the stone as found in the wild. I have not corded this piece, I think it is perfect for many uses from a pendant to an earring. I have been particularly drawn to the idea of this being worn as an earring and would love to see someone do that. It is priced as it is, uncorked and unset. I can cord at no additional cost but any silver or gold work would add cost.
