Black Jade Screw Face Mask Pendant with 24K gold eyes

This piece is a continuation of something I have been obsessed with for longer than my current 36 years of professional carving, masks. This one is a Screw Face mask and fits in the giant realm of masks with contorted or distorted faces. Often these masks with these unusual faces are used to ward off evil or unwanted spirits. This one is no different. I carved this beautiful yet gruesome grimace with 100% intention of warding off whatever unwanted whatsits come calling. I think it works. The eyes are solid 24 K gold that I hand rolled and then shaped and inlaid. They lack the necessary elements for vision in our realm but perhaps not in the spirit realm. I love this powerful piece, it is comfortable and wildly unique as well as stunningly stylish with its textured black jade and pure gold. Comes strung on a hand braided adjustable length cord made from Ritza Tiger Thread.
